Social tennis, without the admin

Whether you're picking up a racket for the first time in years or you play every week, social tennis is about good games, good company and turning up without needing a fixed partner.

Ways to play social tennis

Club mix-ins

The classic club social session: everyone turns up, and doubles pairings are mixed every few games so you play with lots of different people. Perfect if you're new to a club or coming on your own.

Americano-style tournaments

Borrowed from padel: a new partner every round, with your own points adding up across the session. A brilliant way to run a social tournament where everyone plays with everyone.

Box leagues and social leagues

Small groups of players at a similar level play each other over a few weeks, then move up or down. A great way to get regular, close matches.

Short formats such as Fast4

Fast4 cuts sets to four games, with no advantage at deuce and a tie-break at three games all. Matches fit into an evening, and more players get on court.

Getting back into tennis

  • Start with a social session rather than a competitive match: nobody expects perfection.
  • Play doubles to share the running and spend more time at the net.
  • Agree short formats for your first few games so you can play more people.
How RallyPoint helps: we organise friendly social tennis events, so you can just turn up and play. Our first events are coming soon: keep me posted, or bring RallyPoint to your venue.
